What Dance Means to Me by Elizabeth Baillargeon

I have been dancing since I was two years old. When I was little, I took ballet and tap lessons, and after a few years I started jazz. I now am on the River Falls Middle School Dance Team, and dance at competitions for the style 'Pom'. I now take lyrical classes at 'The Dance Project'.

Dance has always been a way to express myself, and my love of performing. It makes me happy when I know that I just nailed a move, or even if I just got better at one. Dancing has taught me endurance, to never give up, even when things get REALLY tough, and that even if you doubt yourself, your teammates, classmates and your friends will help you through. Because from the very first time you dance, whether it's doing a quadruple turn or just swaying to some music, you become part of a community; the dance community. And even if everyone else does, that community will never let you down.
